This paper is a study of the task of training missionaries coming from the then director of training for CAPRO, a major indigenous missionary society in Africa. It speaks about the importance of missionary training, its mode, content and theology, with special reference to the missionary training schools of two-thirds world missions, and speaks powerfully to contemporary training systems sponsored by the west. This essay was written for the centre for theological education, Belfast, in 2005.
