This paper discusses the educational philosophies of both Freire and Palmer with the intention of showing that they are as concerned with re-thinking concepts of knowing as much as concepts of education. The conclusion compares and contrasts the two approaches and draws application for theological education. This essay was written for the Module in Theological Education of the Post-Graduate Certificate of the Belfast Bible College, Belfast, in 2006.
